KHOS Qingyuan Opens July 28, 2020 Debuting a New Caliber of Experiential Luxury Retreat
Luxury travelers are in for a new adventure starting with the grand opening of KHOS Qingyuan in China, a scenic hot springs retreat that unveils a novel concept upscale resort experience. Situated in the increasingly popular visitor destination of Qingyuan, KHOS™ presents imaginative intersections of work and play, productivity and well-being, in a tranquil, design-led resort, enhanced by the holistic benefits of the region’s natural hot springs and the area’s beautiful natural landscape.
More than just a place to stay, KHOS Qingyuan is a complete ecosystem crafted to ensure that each traveler’s unique criteria for relaxation and refreshment are met. There is an inspired community social space, elevated spa and bathhouse experience and collection of progressively conceived meeting rooms. Curated experiences, from “digital detoxes” and romantic immersions in nature for couples, to eco-friendly family playtime and creative team-building activities for innovators, are all designed to empower a new generation of luxury travelers to shift their many worlds forward.
“KHOS Qingyuan is a total reimagining of the luxury resort experience, making it a very exciting new addition to our portfolio,” says Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. “As an up-and-coming tourist destination, Qingyuan is the ideal blend of convenience and off-the-beaten-path appeal, while our design-centric property provides a sanctuary for the modern traveler to indulge, renew, recharge and reconnect.”
The Commons, the beating heart of the KHOS experience for guests and the local community, is a free-flowing interactive social hub to inspire and engage travelers of all stripes. Here guests can check in with ease, grab a bite to eat and find a place to watch the world go by (or just get a little work done.) With a design that evokes a serene garden paradise, and an outdoor area that facilitates a lush immersion into Qingyuan’s tranquil scenery, The Commons provides guests with an intriguing introduction to KHOS Qingyuan’s rejuvenating reconnection to nature.
KHOS Sleep, comprising the resort’s 217 guestrooms and suites ranging from 55 to 145 square meters, showcases memorable, contemporary design with thoughtful details and a warm and welcoming ambience. Each room has a large bathtub – most situated on the rooms’ spacious balconies – and are equipped with plush Japanese reclining sofas overlooking the stunning mountain scenery, allowing guests to commune with nature from the comfort of their sanctuary. The design and furnishings of KHOS Sleep guestrooms also offer environment-friendly and sustainable touches to meet the needs and preferences of the modern-day guest. A palette of rustic, earthy tones and raw wood and stone captures the energy of Qingyuan’s natural beauty, creating a harmonious sense of arriving in a spacious haven.
For guests with young children, family bonding opportunities abound. KHOS Play is a space designed for children to learn and grow amid a safe, fun and interactive environment. In order to nurture the next generation of global tastemakers, KHOS Play structures its indoor and outdoor spaces and hands-on activities around the pillars of adventure, independence and positive self-image. Key to this approach is encouraging kids to interact with their surroundings. KHOS Play cultivates children’s natural curiosity within a social, digital-free environment and three separate play areas -- Adventure, Art & Craft, and Entertainment -- that also take advantage of the hotel’s stunning natural environs.
Adventure has something for every explorer, no matter how little or large, from the Planet of Dreams and Treasure Raiders to the Wall of Wonder play zones. Art & Craft offers a range of stimulating arts and crafts activities from mandala totems and suminagashi painting, to environmental fashion shows and making wish flags out of pillowcases – budding Picassos will feel right at home here. With Entertainment, kids can pop into a music class to learn rhythm and instrumentality or an acting workshop to improve self-confidence and speaking skills. Then there’s the Treasure Raiders’ Quiz Club which develops children’s social vocabulary in a fun and relaxed environment and the Treasure Raiders’ Story Club gets little ones started on telling their own stories.
The Den is a collection of indoor and outdoor entertainment facilities as well as adventure, teambuilding, educational and wellness experiences for all ages. Decorated in refined wood tones and lifted by playful details, fully equipped spaces include a movie theatre and rooms for karaoke, billiards, and VR, video and other games. The wide range of outdoor activities on offer includes badminton, tennis, basketball, beach volleyball, mini golf and archery, for guests to keep their bodies in motion or try their hand at a new hobby during their stay.
KHOS Eat & Drink is hotel dining done differently to create a casual, contemporary culinary adventure with first-rate restaurant and lounge options. XIAN, a chic all-day restaurant, features locally sourced products, interactive dining experiences and an atmosphere of space and serenity created by the surrounding natural scenery. Lu Ting offers authentic Cantonese delicacies guided by a farm-to-table philosophy and Poolside Bar is the place to refresh, relax and indulge in the open air.
For travelers seeking to find their inner balance and truly unwind, Downtime Renew is a modern interpretation of traditional onsens, or Japanese bathhouses, that also goes far beyond the offerings of a simple spa. This is the place to find energy in stillness, absorb the healing properties of water and partake of an indulgent menu of massages and facials. Another option is Downtime Recharge, comprising a garden-enveloped outdoor swimming pool and comprehensive 24-hour fitness center with specialty classes and state-of-the-art facilities. Together, Downtime Renew and Downtime Recharge tap into the natural inspiration and sense of balance in the environment in order to strengthen well-being, amplified by the myriad health benefits of the Qingyuan region’s natural hot springs.
KHOS Qingyuan is also primed to serve the needs of teams and businesses seeking to generate creativity and innovation. KHOS Gather is the resort’s collection of signature, flexible spaces ideal for brainstorming the next big idea. There are more than 4,000 square meters of meeting and function space, including a 1,010-square-meter, pillar-less Grand Hall with 7.2-meter-high ceilings and direct vehicle access, as well as an outdoor grass lawn providing an open-air environment for a wide range of activities and events. Paired with impeccable service and inspired catering, each of the spaces conveys a timeless atmosphere that imparts both grace and prestige to the moment. KHOS Gather venues are equipped with intuitive design touches and smart surfaces in all the right places for maximum productivity. This inspired combination of amenities and facilities is the first of its kind in Qingyuan.
“KHOS Qingyuan is a truly unique hot springs retreat, with facilities and activities designed for genuine engagement with a spectacular natural environment,” says KHOS Qingyuan General Manager Rayee Zhao. “It’s also a gathering point for a diverse, contemporary global community – and with our vast array of rich and varied experiences, each of our guests will be able to find their perfect fit.”
